I learned a very long time ago, that worrying isn’t good for me. It lowers my energy level, makes me grumpy, stressed and causes my immune system to be compromised for days. It also causes undue wrinkles.
Studies have proven if you are stressed for one minute, your immune system is open to disease, sickness and time not feeling great.
If you laugh for one minute you boost your immune system for twenty four hours.
If you are experiencing any kind of problem, worrying about it will only make matters worse. It focuses your mental energy inwards and can bring about fatique and depression. Meditation, visualizing colours and laughter expands the mind, alleviating the pressure and stimulating the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. Endorphins are chemicals that help to relieve pain or stress, and boost happiness. Endorphins are chemicals produced by the body to relieve stress and pain. They work similarly to a class of drugs called opioids. Opioids relieve pain and can produce a feeling of euphoria.
What are the other “feel good hormones”?
- there are four primary chemicals in the brain that effect happiness: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins.
- having laughter experiences can activate these chemicals, thereby increasing your happiness and loyalty.
If you lack energy or are suffering from a specific ailment you can also try visualizing the colours that you need to stimulate the corresponding chakra.
Imagine a sphere of coloured light and completely absorb yourself in it, or imagine being in a room in which the walls, floor and furnishings are of your chosen colour.
COLOURS AND WELL BEING
Different colours can also help with emotional and intellectual issues.
Brown is the colour associated with the earth and can be used if you feel you need to be more practical and more in control of your passions.
Red is the colour of physical energy, so is an ideal choice for those who feel lethargic or who are recuperating from a long illness. Red can also dissolve arthritic crystals, heal genital disorders and stimulate the circulation.
Orange is the colour that relates to emotions, so meditations using orange are often effective in dispelling anxiety, depression and stress-related disorders. Orange is also thought to improve digestion and heal disorders of the liver, pancreas and gall bladder.
Yellow represents the intellect and so is the colour to visualize if you need to make a difficult decision and you do not want to be confused by emotional issues. It is also good as an aid to study. It helps you to absorb more information, retain facts more effectively and recall them more readily. So mediate on the colour yellow before an important exam or interview and you should experience less stress and achieve higher outcomes! Yellow is also traditionally identified with the regenerative power of the sun and is effective for healing on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, just like laughter yoga is.
Green is the colour of nature and of harmony between the physical and spiritual realms. As such, it is an effective calming colour useful for nervous complaints.
Blue is the traditional healing colour for all purely physical ailments, but it also corresponds to the throat chakra which means that blue is the colour to visualize if you need to communicate more effectively or stimulate your creative energies.
Purple is the colour associated with intuition and inspiration, so if you are looking for new ideas immerse yourself in purple and listen for that inner voice. This is also the colour to work with if you want to raise your level of psychic sensitivity or stimulate your imagination.
Violet is the colour you will need if you want to strengthen your resolve and help yourself through testing times.
White is the colour of purity and of the spiritual essence of us all, so meditating on white light puts you in touch with your spiritual guide and your own potential.
To conclude, you may not need drugs to feel happy.
It not only costs you money and doctors visits, but has many contra-indications.
Our body and mind, spirit and our God given rights to be joyful are all within.
